Attorneys in Salem, Oregon Ready to Handle Fracking Injury Lawsuits

Fracking or hydraulic fracturing is to the process of extracting oil and gas from deep within the earth using drillers that pump a mixture of water, sand and chemicals. Since its modernization in 1947, it has been the subject of studies on the operation’s effects on the environment, but it is only now that it came to face a lawsuit for personal injury. CNN’s Jason Morris reports on the recent court victory of a Texan family for injuries sustained from the effects of fracking in their area:

Fracking Judgement

“When the Parr family started having serious health problems late in 2008, they had no idea it was associated with what they call “a multitude” of drilling operations that popped up near their 40-acre ranch in Decatur, 60 miles northwest of Dallas.

At first, Lisa Parr dismissed her migraine headaches, nausea and dizziness as the flu, but when her symptoms persistently got worse, she knew something more serious was involved.

… After a two-week trial that ended Tuesday — Earth Day, coincidentally — a Dallas jury awarded the Parr family $2.9 million for personal injury and property damages in the family’s lawsuit against Plano-based Aruba Petroleum Inc.”

Companies that make use of fracking are based all throughout the country, with some located in the State of Oregon. One cannot be certain as how fracking operations may exactly affect the people living near oil and gas extraction sites. But with the landmark jury verdict in Texas, it won’t be long until others who got heavily affected by fracking will come out to get justice for the injuries inflicted on them.

When such an event happens, the good people of Oregon can expect that reliable attorneys in Salem, Oregon, such as Lance D. Youd, will be ready to handle and fight for their clients’ rights at a proper compensation. More than that, these lawyers can also see to it that no other innocent individuals will be victims of fracking by asking the courts to order fracking operators to cease operation and restore their extraction sites to pristine conditions.

The extent of how harmful fracking can be on human health and the environment is still just coming to light. Those who exhibit signs of fracking-related illnesses or discomfort can go to a personal injury attorney in Salem, Oregon who will advise them on how they should proceed with getting the justice they deserve.
