Clothing Versus Sunscreen – Some Interesting Facts

We often think that having on a t-shirt will protect our skin from the sun’s UV rays. However, according to the Center for Disease Control, a typical t-shirt has an SPF of lower than 15. There are certain articles of clothing that are rated with a higher SPF and are label specifically. When in doubt, it is best to wear sunscreen in addition to clothing.

When choosing a sunscreen, it is best to choose one with at least SPF 15. It should also be reapplied every two hours, or after contact with water.

Remember to use sunscreen whenever you are out in the sun to decrease your chances of skin cancer in the future.
