Tragedy with GM Recalls

General Motors is offering monetary compensation to family members of individuals killed or injured in accidents caused by defects in their vehicles.

One such family, the Gass family, lost their 27-year old daughter in a crash that is believed to have resulted from an ignition switch defect in her 2006 Saturn Ion. Ms. Gass received a recall notification for the vehicle just three weeks before her death. Ms. Gass had already taken her car in for several unrelated recalls.

GM has come under scrutiny recently for the number of recalls their vehicles have had, as well as their response to these very dangerous issues.
