With wildfires burning in Oregon, as well as in neighboring Washington and California, it is a good time to remember some fire safety rules.
Make sure never to throw a lit cigarette out the window of a vehicle, as something as small as a cigarette ember can ignite a dry field. Take similar precautions, even when not in a vehicle.
If you are camping, make sure to follow all rules regarding campfires, including avoiding them altogether in some areas.
If you see a fire starting, contacting 911 immediately. The quicker these are reported, the quicker firefighters can get to work.
