Not long after he earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his law degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 1993, Lance became a member of both the Utah and Oregon Bar Associations. Since then, Lance has become one of Salem’s most respected attorneys and spent 5 years teaching the next generation of attorneys at Willamette University Law School.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay area, Lance relocated to Salem, Oregon, for the area’s natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Lance often skis, surfs, and paddle boards. When he’s not enjoying the outdoors, Lance likes to bake for his wife and five children and friends.

For 5 years Lance taught the next generation of attorneys a course titled "How to Build Your Own Law Practice." Lance continues to Mentor Law School who are pursuing a career as an attorney.
Lance serves and prepares meals for "Feed the Hungry" at St. John the Evangelist church in the city Milwaukee
Lance continues to help prepare meals and build friendships with those in need as a Volunteer and Support in downtown Portland
Lance dedicated 5 years to volunteering each school day as a High School Seminary Advisor for youth in the Community of Aurora
Lance contributed several years as a High School Career Mentor to support students pursuing a legal career and give advice and direction as they planned and prepared to enter law school.
As a youth development volunteer, Lance was able to help support youth involved with Clackamas County animal shows for 9 years.
As an assistant scoutmaster, Lance was able to mentor and support youth in the Boy Scouts of American for over 25 years. Lance taught and oversaw multiple merit badge certifications for many youths as they pursued their ranking as Eagle Scout. As a youth, Lance also earned the rank of an Eagle Scout.
