Country Driving: Cyclists

Another hazard on country roads can be motorcyclists or bicyclists. Both groups enjoy riding on these more deserted roads for the view and peacefulness.

For cyclists, watch for groups. If you see one cyclist on the road, you will likely see others ahead. Give them space when passing.

For motorcyclists, they may move around within the lane, as they attempt to get the best view possible of the road ahead. Be cautious as they move around. If you choose to pass a motorcyclist, give him or her plenty of room. Like bicyclists, motorcyclists often travel together. As such, watch for other motorcyclists that may follow, or may be up ahead.
